It’s that time again – the decorations have been packed away, the Christmas on call shifts are over and another year begins.
A new year brings new possibilities, new adventures and a time for re-evaluating what we want to achieve in the 12 months ahead. You may have ended 2019 ready to look for a new job or ready to take on more challenges in your current role. You might fancy working abroad or switching from general practice to a referral centre – no matter what goals you would like to achieve, you can make it possible with hard work, passion and dedication.
Doors opened
The veterinary profession has become a diverse industry; doors have opened for veterinary nurses, allowing them to achieve new qualifications and obtain a variety of roles, and, most importantly, a range of opportunities for nurses to use their knowledge and experience in different ways has been provided.
Whether you wish to remain in a “front-line” nursing role, expand to a specialism or become a nursing manager, practice manager, sales manager, phlebotomist, radiographer and so on, pathways and support exist to help you.
Working together
Throughout 2020, the VN Voice column will showcase a wide selection of roles and demonstrate the diversity and possibilities within our profession.
The aim of this is to celebrate the nursing community, and raise awareness of the diverse efforts and achievements of RVNs. Providing support for one another and working together to help follow in our joint passion is vital.
If we ask questions, show interest and support one another, we can stand taller together.
