Answer to firework noise for nervous pets?

by

Vehicle manufacturer Ford has created a noise-cancelling dog/cat kennel that employs microphones to detect the sound of fireworks and transmit opposing frequencies from built-in speakers inside the kennel – reducing the loud bangs on the outside.

The concept quiet kennel is the first in a series of Ford initiatives called Interventions, which look at ways to use its automotive technology to solve everyday problems.

Noise cancelling

The kennel is equipped with active noise control devices that work like noise-cancelling technology found in headphones and some cars. Microphones inside the kennel detect sudden loud noises outside and automatically activate opposing sounds inside that effectively cancel them out.

With anti-vibration technology and an automatic door, the kennel is made of a special cork that filters out even more noise. The smart kennels are currently at the concept stage.
