Dechra Veterinary Products has added to its antibiotic portfolio range with two products for the treatment of respiratory infections in cats and bacterial infections in dogs.
Spizobactin is indicated for the treatment of (peri)oral and periodontal multi-bacterial infections in dogs, such as those associated with gingivitis, stomatitis, glossitis, periodontitis, tonsillitis, dental fistula and other fistulous wounds in the oral cavity, and will be available in three tablet strengths.
Second generation
Doxybactin, a second generation tetracycline, can be used to target conditions caused by bacteria sensitive to doxycycline, such as rhinitis, bronchopneumonia and interstitial nephritis in dogs, and respiratory infections in cats.
