Vets have a new weapon in their armoury when it comes to treating arthritis in dogs with a new offering from Chanelle.
Osteopen is the first alternative pentosan polysulphate sodium, and is now available to the UK and Irish markets.
Synthetic polymer
Osteopen is a semi-synthetic polymer with anti-inflammatory properties that benefit the cartilage and other components of synovial joints.
As a “disease-modifying OA drug”, pentosan polysulphate sodium is capable of modifying the metabolism of the joint structures, leading to the production of the lubricating synovial fluid.
Regeneration
Use of the product on an ongoing basis influences the underlying disease processes occurring in arthritis, reducing pain and helping regenerate damaged joint components.
Chanelle’s head of sales and marketing Killian Gaffney said: “The launch of Osteopen offers choice to the practitioner backed up by a thorough support package featuring vet and owner brochures, posters, pens and notepads.”
