Nominations are open for the RCVS’ council and VN council elections 2019.
Only three seats will be available for council next year, following changes to the college’s governance structure that received ministerial approval in May.
Structural changes
Council members are now only able to serve a total of three consecutive four-year terms and, once these have ended, will have to wait at least two years before standing again.
VN council has reduced the number of elected members from eight to six. The term of office for VN council members has also been reduced from four to three years and the same three-term limit applies.
Nominate
The nomination period for both RCVS and VN councils runs until 5pm on 31 January.
Candidates for either council must complete a nomination form, submit a short biography and personal statement, and supply a high resolution digital photo. They will also need to have two nominators.
