Fearless final-year RVC vet students have shed their clothes to pose for a naked calendar to raise funds for charity.
The project saw students pose sans scrubs (indeed, sans anything save for their stethoscopes) in a variety of locations across campus to raise funds for Vetlife.
Stripped back
The theme for the 2019 calendar is “Vets in Action” and final-year student Ben Alexander Smith, who took the photos, believes the calendar will raise plenty of cash.
He said: “I wanted to take photos that would reflect a stripped back representation of the various careers vets in practice have. I’m really happy with the artistic look of the calendar and they are flying off the shelves.
“We chose to support Vetlife because we think they provide an important and incredibly valuable service to veterinary professionals and students, and I hope we can make as much money as possible for the charity.”
Secluded field
While most of the shoot went without a hitch, some memorable moments occurred.
Mr Smith explained: “As we arrived at the farm to take photos with the cows we noticed some children celebrating a birthday party at the farm. Obviously, this was quite the surprise, but our contact quickly showed us to a secluded field around the back of the farm where we could take photos out of sight.”
Model behaviour
The calendar is not all about the human models, as a German shepherd dog called Jackson takes pride of place in the February and March spreads.
The calendar can be bought for £10, and while some funds will go towards the RVC final year graduation ball, a share of the proceeds will be donated to Vetlife.
