The Linnaeus Group has donated £60,000 to the charity Dogs for Good, which provides accredited assistance dogs to people with physical disabilities and children with autism.
The gift comes hard on the heels of a similar £60,000 donation in November made to Vetlife, which provides emotional, financial and mental health support to the veterinary community.
Anniversary
Banbury, Oxfordshire-based Dogs for Good, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, champions the positive impact a dog can have on an autistic child and its family environment.
The bulk of the Linnaeus donation will go towards funding innovative, family-friendly workshops across the UK.
Perfect choice
Lynne Hill – chief executive of Linnaeus, which was acquired by Mars Petcare earlier this year – said: “Dogs for Good is a perfect charitable choice for us, as it combines a love for animals with a quest to help in the wider community.
